A cheese distributor serving major grocery store chains throughout the United States had an overall service level commitment to their customers of 99.5%. This goal required high inventory levels. Their inventory management was changed from ABC classification and associated days-of-supply safety stocks to Optimal Velocity’s Demand Forecaster™ and Inventory Optimizer™. Utilizing these products, our team individually customized products for inventory reduction. Using the 99.5% service level goal, inventory investment was reduced by $614,000.
